Book Review 6

Title: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Author: Stephen Chbosky

This has to be the best book I ever read. This is quite an old book, published somewhere in the year 2000. It was recommended by Jeffery Lightfoot, Singapore U-15 soccer team captain. This book is about a boy who does not want people to know his name. You will, however, find out his name. He is Charlie. Charlie is a really shy and has no friends at school. He has a brother and a sister who he isn't really close to.

Charlie makes friends with Sam and Patrick, who are siblings. Sam and Patrick treat him very well although they are seniors. They bring him to parties and introduce him to their friends. Charlie has a huge crush on Sam. She knows it but she feels that Charlie is too young for her.

The book goes on to tell us how the rest of the year went and all those unforgettable moments. At the end of the year, all of Charlie's friends have to move on to college, leaving Charlie with no friends once again. Charlie misses them all so much, especially Sam. Charlie and his sister have became really close after Charlie helped her in keeping her pregnancy a secret.

My thoughts:
This is a really good book, especially as I can relate to it a lot. There are many touching and heartbreaking moments as well as those times where they feel infinite. It's like the kind of thing where you can play a song to as you read on and things fit perfectly. I finished the book in a week, it was absolutely great. I am really grateful to Jeffery Lightfoot without which I would not have been able to have read such a book and I recommend it to everyone who ever had that feeling that they didn't belong somewhere or when things just kept becoming worse. I wished the book didn't have to end so fast. I must say that I really connected with the book and I can't think of any way else to describe it. Just read it, please.
